RM MathsThere are a number of self-directed learning packages on the market, with various claims about the extent to which they can boost children's performance in curriculum subjects.

To establish whether these packages have any role to play in the Primary National Strategy's efforts to raise attainment in primary schools, the Strategy established a Primary Proof of Concept (PPOC) project, in which six schools in each of five LAs (Derbyshire, Liverpool, Sheffield, Manchester, and Greenwich) agreed to trial mathematics software under the Intensifying Support element of the Strategy.
