Creative Curriculum, creativity in education - Social media - School priorities
School Priorities

Social Media

Many learners are accustomed to a connected world, with text, messaging and social media forming a constant part of their day-to-day lives. Bringing these technologies into the curriculum is a powerful aid to creative learning.

The backbone of any connected approach to the curriculum is the learning platform, and Kaleidos provides access to resources over the Internet whenever the pupils need it, encouraging them to extend their learning beyond the school day and to collaborate with teachers and peers.

It's equally valuable to allow students to bring their own technology to school, blurring the lines between leisure and learning by allowing them to connect securely to the school network with iPods, laptops and mobile phones.

It is of course essential to ensure safety and best practice in the digital world and tools such as EPICT's E-Safety Awareness Module and safe email and Internet connections give you absolute confidence that your learners and staff can work safely and effectively, whenever they access the school's resources.

And what better way to encourage and recognise learners than by allowing them to share and show off their creative skills by creating web pages, blogs and wikis to display their work and practice their skills, bringing the benefits and immediacy of the online world into the curriculum and providing a fantastic display of how your school has embraced the digital world.
