Professional certifications provide a way for individuals to get ahead by validating expertise and hard work. Technicians and Network Managers are invaluable to the management of ICT across the whole school and the RM Certified Professional Programme recognises expertise in this specialised field.

The programme consists of two levels of certification, of which this is the first. Individuals who take this examination and successfully reach the required pass mark will be awarded RM Certified Network Technician status. This award recognises the knowledge required to effectively operate and administer a Community Connect 3 network. 

The award can be ascertained through a multiple-choice examination, taking 30 minutes to complete.

Individuals who wish to sit the RM Certified Network Technician examination should have completed either a Managing Community Connect 3 or Moving Forward with Community Connect 3 training course, and have at least six months experience of managing the day-to-day operations of a Community Connect 3 network.

Each individual working for an establishment with a Community Connect 3 network is entitled to take the Network Technician examination once free-of-charge. Failure to attend a booked certification session without prior cancellation will result in loss of this free entitlement. Any further bookings or resits for the Network Technician examination will be priced at £55.

Certification tests can be taken at Secondary Technical Seminars, Primary ICT Seminars, and in the Education Centre in Abingdon. Certification events can now be booked above. Places are limited so please book now to avoid disappointment.

Certification examinations can be retaken once per certification cycle, and the above charge of £55 will apply. Please see the below Terms and Conditions for full details.

RM Certification status is valid for each major software release, for example Community Connect 3, so there is no need to be continually assessed.
