WindPC- embracing wind and ICT

Ecoquiet PC

We had over 500 entries from schools and colleges across the country to win 1 of 100 educational energy saving kits containing an RM ecoquiet® PC, a wind turbine to power it and a booklet of hints, tips, and lesson ideas.

We had lots of superbly thought out entries, detailing exactly how the kits would be used to transform the teaching of sustainability across the whole school and even reaching into the community.

To help you embrace wind technology and bring it to life in the classroom please download this useful booklet and poster packed full of tips and lesson plans.

Energy-saving, cost-saving, noise-reducing...
...Introducing RM's ecoquiet® Technology!

RM's PCs with ecoquiet technology inside are helping to protect our planet's finite resources, as well as addressing schools' concerns over growing energy bills noisy PCs.

RM's PCs with ecoquiet inside use two thirds less power than standard desktop PCs; they really can make a tremendous difference to energy consumption, and the energy bills, of schools and colleges.

For example, an average secondary school with 220 computers running most of the day could save a massive 104,350kWh and as much as £9,000 in fuel cost over 3 years.

Independent tests have shown that RM PCs with ecoquiet inside are more than 14dB(A) quieter than standard PCs. Designed using Intel® Processors, RM ecoquiet PCs helps to create an ideal teaching and learning environment.

Woodland Trust

This exciting ecoquiet / wind turbine competition is part of RM's ongoing initiative to encourage and enable sustainable energy use in schools. We are also donating £2 for every ecoquiet PC sold to The Woodland Trust's Tree For All campaign to plant 12 million trees in the UK by 2009 - one for every child under the age of 16.
