Description

Security.bat file sets the local NTFS permissions on Windows 2000 and XP machines, to allow the courseware to run without error for users that do not have 'Modify' access to the local files and folders.

N.B. If you have a Community Connect 3 network, please see TEC158098. Do not run this file on your network.



Download Instructions

  1. Click the link below to download the Security.zip file.
  2. Choose to save the file to your desktop.
  3. Double-click the Security.zip file to extract a file called Security.bat. Save this either to a floppy disk or your desktop.

Installation Instructions

The following instructions would need to be completed at each Windows 2000 or XP station that is displaying an error when trying to run the courseware:

  1. Log on to the station as a user with administrative rights (e.g. Administrator, Manager etc.)
  2. Double-click the Security.bat file. A black window will open, then close automatically.
  3. Log off the station. It is now ready for use with students.
