Published Date : 26 Feb 2008   Content Ref: TEC1129899

Symptoms

Some third party browser extensions and add-ons may interfere with how Internet Explorer views certain Web pages. They may also cause Internet Explorer to stop functioning or generate error messages.

Procedure

To disable third party browser extensions, carry out the following:

  1. Close any instances of Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Start, Control Panel.
  3. Double-click on Internet Options, or Network and Internet Connections, Internet Options if in Category view.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Untick the 'Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart)' check box.
  6. Click Apply and then OK.

Please note that this procedure may remove toolbars such as the Google or Yahoo toolbar.
