RM plc ("RM"), the leading supplier of IT software, services and systems
to education in the UK, announces results for the year ended 30 September, 1996.
Financial Highlights:
Commenting today, Mike Fischer, Chief Executive, said:
"During the year, RM's core businesses and new activities both made excellent progress, consolidating
RM's position as the leading supplier of information technology to UK education establishments.
Education budgets remain under pressure, with strong competition for funds. Despite this, the growing recognition of the value of IT to education, combined with the educational benefits of RM's products, gives the Directors confidence that IT expenditure will increase as a percentage of the total education budget in the longer term. It is too early in the year to give an indication of the outcome for the current year, especially given the seasonal nature of RM's business. Nevertheless, the Board believes that RM is well positioned to take advantage of growth in its markets, and has opportunities for further gains in market share."
