RM has been selected by Hull City Council to provide ICT services for the City's BSF (Building Schools for the Future) programme. RM will deliver the services as part of the Esteem consortium, which has been appointed selected bidder for the programme. This is the 14th BSF win for RM making it the clear leader in BSF ICT delivery.
Hull's BSF programme will transform the city's secondary and special schools, providing high-quality learning environments. The initial contract, which is for the first phase of the programme, covers eight schools and is expected to be worth £16.5m to RM. Two subsequent phases of the programme will cover a further 15 schools.
RM will be responsible for the design, implementation and day-to-day delivery of a sophisticated ICT managed service. The service includes in-school systems and connectivity, applications management, and centrally hosted data centre facilities. Schools in Hull will also get access to RM's Kaleidos Learning Platform, as well as RM's innovative Fuse and Podium content creation tools. Interim service delivery starts in September 2010, with full service delivery following the completion of building works.
Terry Sweeney, Chief Executive of RM, said:
"Being selected as Hull's BSF ICT partner is great news for us. It's the fourteenth BSF programme we've been selected for, out of the thirty-seven that have been appointed, and reinforces our position as the company of choice to help with improving the life chances of young people. The Hull team has an excellent vision for education in their city's schools and I am delighted that the RM Group will be working with them to achieve that."
"We're looking forward to working as part of the Esteem consortium, and with teachers across Hull." |
