Getting Creative
Honeycomb encourages all pupils to get creative within a really easy to use online environment. It takes advantage of Web 2.0 technology to provide intuitive online desktop publishing tools and drag and drop functionality, which enables pupils to quickly add in images, sounds files, videos and choose from a range of widgets. It's really quick and easy for anyone to create a professional looking web page within minutes.
Working together Another great benefit of Honeycomb is the ability for a pupil to invite other pupils in to collaborate on a piece of work. This is ideal for joint projects or interest groups and for encouraging a community of users, which may exist within a class or across the school.
Peer Assessment Honeycomb also enables pupils and teachers to give feed back on each others work either by leaving a comment or a fun sticker. This can be viewed and switched on and off by the owner of that page. As Honeycomb is entirely online, pupils can also log in at home and show their parents what they have created. This ability for other people to see their work encourages pupils to consider the type of audience they are writing for.
