Enhance your standard warranty with ValueCare

Product Overview
ValueCare represents our basic on-site service and offers great value for money. ValueCare is designed to be specific to education, but does not include all the extra features of ValueCare+ or EduCare.
What does ValueCare for your Server offer you?
- An RM certified engineer onsite the day after you log your hardware call; RM's field engineering team can provide next day service to every school in the UK Mainland
- A noon cut off for next day service
- A dedicated stock of Server components and parts for RM engineers. In the event we do not have stock of a part, you will be notified immediately, and we will ensure we obtain the parts to get you back up and running as quickly as possible
- 24/7 online call logging or by telephone 8am to 6pm on school days
- Access to RM Support who will help diagnose the hardware fault, through platform trained teams, to ensure our visit is successful first time
- Built in Return to RM Service Centre in the event the hardware fault cannot be fixed onsite
- A dedicated control team who actively allocate and monitor hardware calls
What does ValueCare not offer you?
- ValueCare is a hardware fix only service and does not include any software or data restoration. Recovery and restoration from backup remains your responsibility.
- The engineer can arrive anytime between 9am and 5pm
Important information:
It is very important that you clean your backup tape drive regularly. 6 times out of 10, we find that tape drive failures are a direct result of not cleaning your tape drives properly. Please refer to TEC article TEC620736 on the RM Knowledge Library, and our terms and conditions about tape drive failure.

Please note
RM Servers come with a minimum of one year warranty included in the purchase price as standard (refer to specific Servers related product pages for details). However, this one year can now be chosen from our new three tiers of service levels. Unlike before, your Server will come with a standard one year warranty from ValueCare or ValueCare+, depending on what you choose. The extended warranty replaces this and runs from the installation date for the duration shown. All parts, labour and carriage (where appropriate) are included in these prices. Accidental damage is not covered on a ValueCare one year warranty.

Processes for RM's Extended Warranty Options
Onsite Service
- The fault can be logged by telephone or on www.rm.com/support.
- Correct replacement parts are shipped overnight to the engineer.
- Engineer attends site to fix the server.
- For failed hard drives, it is your responsibility to restore the server's operating system and user data
RM requires that the engineer is provided with a safe, clear and quiet area in which to work. A person with knowledge of the fault and relevant passwords must also be available during the course of repair.

Technical Information
RM has a policy to exhaust every avenue when trying to source parts to repair a customer's hardware when under warranty. However, given the ever changing nature of technology, especially Server technology, it can actually become impossible to source parts for certain platforms when they reach the age of 5 year or above. In virtually all calls for servers over the age of 5 years, we can source parts despite them becoming very expensive. There are rare occasions when we will not be able to provide a replacement part for a repair. In these cases, we will offer customer's their money back for the entire year.
