Sonica Spanish is an innovative software product commissioned by the DfES. Sonica Spanish is designed to help teachers, including modern foreign language (MFL) specialists, bring Spanish language teaching into their classrooms.
Sonica Spanish has been created to meet the learning outcomes of the QCA Scheme of Work for Spanish at Key Stage 2 - published summer 2004 (please see the downloads page for links to the Scottish 5-14 Guidelines for Modern Languages). It includes activities designed for listening, speaking, reading and writing.

How you teach with Sonica Spanish is your choice - work your way through all of the activities and follow it as a course or use activities individually to complement your lessons!
The program is made up of 240 activities - each activity includes materials for a 15 minute lesson as well as comprehensive support notes detailing the language to be used, the learning objectives, how each activity works, ideas on how to deliver the lesson and possible extension activities.
The audio/visual dictionary provides video and audio help with your pronunciation to help you gain confidence in using Spanish language. The words are spoken by native Spanish speakers.
Video case studies give you real-life examples of best practice in MFL teaching.
An MFL expert is on hand to answer any Spanish education support queries you may have.
