What is CPD Workshop?

CPD Workshop is a fantastic off-the-shelf practical training pack developed with educational experts specifically for Primary school teachers. It looks at the effective use of interactive whiteboards and will help you learn how to maximise their full potential.

This fully-adaptable, comprehensive course is perfect for either teacher-led INSET or self-study because the training notes, video case studies, slide presentations, workshop discussions, detailed lesson plans, lesson tips and action plans can be used in whichever way suits you and your school best.

Who is CPD Workshop for?

• Session 2 (approximately two hours long)
  
  Focuses on the pedagogy and looks in depth at how to use interactive whiteboards as an effective teaching and learning tool alongside other available resources.
  
  Video case studies are used which show real teachers in the classroom giving a lesson using interactive whiteboards and also talking about their own personal experiences of using whiteboards. These videos are used as a focus for a discussion workshop looking at the pedagogy.
  
  This session then goes on to give guidance on maximising the potential of interactive whiteboards for different learning styles, to support inclusion, increase the quality of classroom discussion, develop pupils' creativity and exploration and provides examples that will help you create your own exciting interactive resources that will bring out the best in your pupils.
  
  
• Review session (approximately one and a half hours long)
  
  Allows you to reflect with your colleagues on your experiences in the classroom following the training and gives you the opportunity to share good practice.
  
  It also considers how you can further develop interactive whiteboard usage in the future, both at the school and personal level. Action plans are included to help with this.

CPD Workshop includes:

• Training sessions
  The entire course is provided on a CD-ROM. It is all fully-editable and each session is organised into short modules so that if you wish to you can tailor the course to your school's requirements.
  
• Training notes
  Trainer notes are provided to give full support and direction throughout the course meaning that you do not need to be a whiteboard specialist to deliver effective training. These notes can also be used for self-study.
  
• Lesson plans
  Lesson plans and resources are included to help you get started using interactive whiteboards in the classroom. The lessons are from across the curriculum for pupils aged from 3 to 11 and are all available in Easiteach, SMART Notebook and ACTIVprimary. Every lesson contains everything that you need to deliver a lesson in school - comprehensive teacher notes, ideas for group and individual activities, and plenary sessions.
  
• Ongoing support
  CPD Workshop also has further lesson ideas and the addresses of useful websites to find additional resources. Guides are available for each of the software packages and help with relevant ICT issues such as  downloading videos is also provided.
  
• Teacher packs
  All the material needed for the duration of the course - eight copies are included to save preparation time.
  
• A permanent site licence
  This allows you to use CPD Workshop at home as well as at school. It also means that your school can use it time after time for a refresher or to train new starters.
