"A learning platform is a framework of tools that work seamlessly together to deliver a student centric learning experience by unifying educational theory & practice, technology and content."*
The RM Learning Platform is a family of products and services that together form RM's Managed Learning Environment. The Learning Platform has been specifically designed with schools and local authorities to help address some of the key challenges facing teachers and learners today.

Our vision for the Learning Platform is a world where ICT is fully integrated with the way schools work, where every member of the school community has access to appropriate information when and where they need it, and tools that are exciting and engaging, whilst enabling them to be as effective as possible.
Many schools already have a learning platform or elements of one such as a virtual learning environment, but few of these systems interact to share common information offer such a rich and personalised experience as the RM Learning Platform. We have worked closely with schools and other educational ICT suppliers to deliver a fully integrated teaching and learning ICT environment that helps local authorities and schools raise educational standards and attainment.
"The Learning Platform is in the process of transforming the way in which we think about teaching and learning. Staff have been both positive and enthusiastic about this development and how it enhances communication between all members of the school community, from senior management to parents."
Simon Jackson, Deputy Head teacher, Farmors School
The RM Learning Platform consists of four key elements...
Virtual Learning Environment (VLE): a teaching and learning system enabling the school community to work anywhere, anytime. Curriculum materials can be stored and easily accessed using criteria such as keywords or curriculum objectives. Courses and lessons can be prepared, planned and delivered with engaging rich content and Web 2.0 tools. Teachers can create assignments for individuals or groups and track and monitor attainment using electronic markbooks.
Portal+: a dynamic and scalable Web-based education portal that provides a personalised experience for every user by presenting relevant information from other systems, such as SIMs or Integris data. Portal+ includes communication and collaboration tools such as blogs, wikis and online discussions and personal e-portfolios all in a secure and safe environment.
Data Exchange: sophisticated technology that enables integration of data from diverse systems and simplifies the user management of the learning platform by offering features such as automated account creation.
Assessment: a comprehensive set of tools enabling the setting and management of student targets; monitoring progress against key milestones; showcasing work through advanced e-portfolios with personal reflections and peer reviews; analysis and reporting.
With additional options such as Media Tools, Communicator and Web Conferencing the possibilities are endless.
