RM Education Plus Services

Imaging is a collection of software and settings which you would like to be implemented across a number of computers. These machines must all be the same specification to ensure the image works correctly on all. We can implement an image on third-party or RM Education equipment. The timescales involved would typically be 10 days from our receipt of the units. Your RM education Sales representative will be able to give you an accurate lead time upon ordering.

We can supply this service from as little as £5.00 a unit.

We can offer two types of imaging service for your ICT solution which means you can either supply us with your own image or we can create an image for you.

Customer Supplied Images:
With the help of your RM Education sales representative, you need to agree what you would like us to image on the units for you. A Project Co-ordinator will then take over and ensure the image is suitable and will manage the process to ensure it goes smoothly. This can be done on 30 or more units.

RM image
You could arrange through your RM Education sales representative that we create an image for you. The Sales person will agree the imaging cost with you and then you will be sent an image request form. This gives us a record of your requirements and ensures the licenses for the software are held with you. We will then create a validation unit which will be supplied to you for your feedback. If there are changes to be made, these would be made and a unit supplied to you to confirm any changes. When the image has been agreed with you, the remaining units will be imaged. This can be done on 50 or more units.

Third-party machines - Apple, HP or Toshiba

If you have purchased some third-party equipment that doesn't quite meet your specification requirements then we can offer a service to adjust the hardware accordingly. We can add in extra memory, network cards (e.g. wireless) and graphics cards. We would install the drivers and ensure the system is working with the upgrade.

We can supply this service from as little as £3.00 a unit plus the cost of the upgrade part.

A BIOS is the built-in software that determines what a computer can do without accessing programs from a disk. On PCs, the BIOS contains all the code required to control the keyboard, display screen, disk drives, serial communications, and a number of miscellaneous functions.

If you require a specific standard setting in the BIOS on your order then we can ensure this change is made in our factory. This could be done on our own PCs and third-party equipment. If you decide you would like some changes made, then you would need to communicate them to us prior to commitment; this would allow us to assess the feasibility of the request. This can be done through your RM Education sales representative.

We can change most things on our own equipment from boot order to password. We are more restricted on some third-party kit but will endeavour to fulfil customer's requests. These changes would be subject to an order of over 30 for RM PCs and 50 for third-party kit. We can supply this service for as little as £5.00 a unit.

Asset Tagging is a service we offer to uniquely identify each machine on your order.

We are happy to fit labels provided to us or we can create your label ourselves. The labels would be stuck onto the computer. If we are to create the label, we would need you to provide us with your requirements such as the numbering sequence, any text, as well as bar codes. We can record these unique IDs against the serial number of each machine and provide a report to the you with this detail. The timescales for this service vary depending on the label required and detail but would be agreed before we proceed with your request.
