iPad buy back scheme

What is it?
Google for Education and Intel have worked together, with Recycle IT, to create an iPad trade-in scheme to support you with purchasing Google Chromebooks.

As a Google for Education Premier Partner, RM is offering you the opportunity to trade-in your old iPad devices, the value of which can be used to offset a portion of the purchased price of Intel-powered Chrome devices.

How do I take part?
  • Tell us what kit you want to trade in and its condition.
  • We'll provide you with a quote of the value of the kit.
  • We will facilitate ordering the Chromebooks for you.
  • Recycle IT will then arrange the collection of the kit from your establishment.
  • Once the kit is collected and the condition of the kit is verified by Recycle IT, you will receive a PO from Recycle IT which you can then invoice against for the trade-in value.

The condition of the devices are graded and the amount of rebate received is based on the condition of the device.
Grade A

No marks present on the display, no physical damage on the device, all accessories present and undamaged.

Grade B

Slight marks to the display, no other damage on the device, all accessories are present and undamaged.

All Grade A condition units but with no accessories

BER
(beyond economic repair)

Beyond economic repair. These would be considered WEEE. These will be processed as a cost neutral solution and will attract no trade-in value.

It is your responsibility to grade the devices based on the descriptions of each Grade given, which is located on the iPad buy back scheme webpage on the RM website. RM shall use your gradings to provide a quotation. However, if Recycle IT decide that the incorrect grading has been supplied and a higher or lower grading is appropriate, Recycle IT will discuss this with you. You can then choose whether to continue with the iPad buy back scheme, or retain your devices.

What Chrome devices can I purchase?

We have a stringent RM Recommends testing and validation process to ensure that the hardware we offer to schools is made for education. As a result of this process we have selected a 14” Chromebook and an 11” ruggedised Chromebook as recommended for use in education.

The rebate received from the trade-in can be used for either of the below devices.
