The Ladies College

The Background

The Ladies’ College is a day school based in St Peter Port in Guernsey, and has approximately 550 pupils between the ages of 2.5 and 18 years old. The school is the second oldest girls’ school in theBritish Isles and will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2021.

The school has been using RM Integris to deliver its MIS requirements for the last 10 years.

The Solution

The Ladies’ College uses a number of different features and functionality in Integris including:

  • Registration and student details
  • Markbook and assessment planning
  • Parent communications and reporting

The Markbooks have proven useful, both for teachers to input assessment data directly, and to integrate third party assessment data (e.g. SATs results). Because data can be analysed across different subjects and sources, both within the MIS and in the classroom, inconsistencies can be identified and actioned. For example there may be SEN issues not previously identified and the data analysis can identify where further investigation is required.

The Benefits

Because the registration tools are quick and easy to use it’s now feasible to do lesson registration, rather than just morning and afternoon registration. This helps the school keep an accurate view of where pupils are at any time (and helps them make sure it’s the right place).

Using the Markbooks has helped streamline parental reporting and communications. Examinations Officer and MIS Administrator, says:

"This has saved time as rather than compiling one large report at the end of the year parents can log in and review their daughters’ work whenever they want to."

Sarah Duguid, Examinations Officer and MIS Administrator

As the end of year reporting process usually clashed with the exam period this has been particularly useful given Sarah’s responsibilities for both exams and the MIS.

The Markbook data is also useful to compare predictive and actual marks. There are good visual reports to use to look at the data which can help teachers interpret and use the data effectively, in targeted student engagement. And because it’s cloud based, teachers have the option of accessing Integris whenever and wherever they need to.

When support is required, Sarah often uses the ‘help’ section with the system and has seen it improve. She says ‘The ‘how to-s’ are useful and organised logically which makes it easier to workout how to get things done.’ Though they don’t have to do it often, calling the helpdesk is generally quick and easy, as they understand the school and its context.

"We have been using RM Integris for many years but it hasn’t stood still. New developments like the Training Academy and real time data offer us new opportunities to make the most of all the data we gather across the school."
