AI in Assessment: Theory to Practice at Upcoming eAA Event

Written by Admin | Sep 15, 2026, 1:13:01 PM

AI is now part of almost every assessment conversation. The harder question is what responsible use looks like in practice: where it can support quality and efficiency, where human judgement still matters most, and how awarding bodies can test new approaches without losing trust in outcomes.

That is the space RM has been exploring through its AI marking proof-of-concept work. Our recent projects looked at how AI can support marking and feedback for long-form responses, with a particular focus on consistency, speed of feedback and keeping human expertise central to the process. The work is part of a broader effort to examine how AI can be applied in assessment in ways that are fair, reliable and useful in real delivery contexts.

Heading to the conference?

Senior Product Manager Anna Hinchliffe will be attending the event in Manchester as a delegate. If you are exploring AI in assessment, proof-of-concept activity, or the practical considerations around introducing AI into marking and feedback workflows, Anna would be glad to continue the conversation during the event.
