Explore public perceptions of educational assessment in this workshop

Written by Admin | Apr 9, 2026 2:22:53 PM

Join RM's Digital Adoption and Training Lead, Gwyneth Toolan, together with expert speakers Isabel Nisbet and Stuart Shaw, as they explore who we really mean by 'the public' in educational assessment, and whether public perceptions matter for organisations designing, delivering, or regulating assessments.

📅 Thursday 14th May

🕙10am - 11am (BST)

📍Online Workshop

They will unpack the different publics involved and examine how opinions are formed, amplified, and sometimes misunderstood. They will also look at the tensions between expert and non expert perspectives.

Assessment professionals bring deep technical knowledge, while public views may be shaped by personal experience, media stories, or high profile controversies.

As the assessment landscape continues to evolve, these and other issues explored in this discussion are likely to become even more significant.

We invite participants to discuss the relevance of these issues for your own work.
