What is it?

The HP for Education trade-in scheme has given over £10m back to schools in the last three years! It allows schools to send old hardware of any brand to HP in exchange for up to £150 per item when you purchase new devices.

Tools

How does it work?

The cashback you earn can be transferred to an online wallet where you can purchase e-credit to spend on anything with RM* – including RM Connectivity, RM Integris, RM Unify and more. Alternatively, you can spend in the brand new HPFE ‘Staff Room’ – a range of products and services specially selected from HP approved providers to help establishments maximise the impact of their investments in HP technology.

What are the benefits?

  • Get money back for old devices either not in use or no longer a suitable performance for modern needs;
  • Responsibly recycle old hardware in a GDPR compliant way;
  • A great way to move to Windows 10 if you are still using Windows 7 devices that are no longer supported;
  • Save money on other services, helping stretch your budgets and prevent tough decisions.

Schools and academies can also benefit from the Microsoft 365 licencing, which adds a host of features including Minecraft: Education Edition, Intune for Education and even more security.

Are you eligible?

Schools, colleges and academies located within the UK and the Republic of Ireland can all register to take part in the programme. As long as your equipment is in working order and at least a 10” screen where applicable it should qualify. If you’re unsure, email hardware@rm.com and we can advise.

Why RM?

You can also be sure that any hardware from RM is built for education. We run stringent tests covering build quality, design, performance and functionality before recommending devices to schools - giving you peace of mind that they will last and perform as expected.

What’s new?

The HP Trade In scheme has been simplified this year, making it easier to recycle your old devices and claim cashback when buying new devices. You can also now earn an extra £50* when you choose to take your reward as wallet funds, meaning you could earn £150 per device to spend on IT solutions for your school.

*the extra £50 must be spent in the HPFE ’Staff Room’, whereas the initial £100 can be spent either in the ’Staff Room’ or with RM as your preferred reseller.

To find out in more detail how you can use the scheme, please email our hardware team.
