The AI marking that works with you

We are working with customers to test AI marking across a broad range of subjects in any combination they want to review.  This includes double marking, where the same script is marked by AI and a human to compare outcomes, double marking only at the grade boundaries, to AI marking alone.  Our platform allows customers to choose the level of AI involvement they are most comfortable with.

As effective as human marking

AI doesn’t just mark at the equivalent level to human markers, but it can improve outcomes, as it marks with speed, reliability and accuracy enabling candidates to receive their results more quickly

More consistent than human marking

AI can identify the grade of a response and mark responses of that grade with more consistency than a human marker, without bias and without potential fatigue

Enhances teacher support

We have shown that AI can mark effectively and at speed, enabling provision of results to candidates more quickly

Let’s use AI to give ourselves more time to do the really important parts of our job…and let's avoid losing that ownership of the important parts of our job as well. It is a tool to help us. It shouldn't be a tool to replace the human beings.

Embrace the use of certainly generative AI - it’s a timesaver, it’s a resource, it’s a tool. So if we compare it to the calculator, which was feared at the time, people were like “oh nobody’s going to have to learn how to do maths anymore!” Of course. That’s not the case. It’s a tool, it’s a resource. The same is true of generative AI - it’s a time saver, it’s a resource.

I think feedback, and being able to give really quick, timely feedback that enables teachers to gain new insights into ‘what next’ for their learner - but also for the learner themselves to challenge themselves, thinking about ‘what’s next’ - is really, really important. It’s obviously one of the areas that we think is going to have massive potential in terms of learning and assessment.
