Let’s use AI to give ourselves more time to do the really important parts of our job…and let's avoid losing that ownership of the important parts of our job as well. It is a tool to help us. It shouldn't be a tool to replace the human beings.
Embrace the use of certainly generative AI - it’s a timesaver, it’s a resource, it’s a tool. So if we compare it to the calculator, which was feared at the time, people were like “oh nobody’s going to have to learn how to do maths anymore!” Of course. That’s not the case. It’s a tool, it’s a resource. The same is true of generative AI - it’s a time saver, it’s a resource.
I think feedback, and being able to give really quick, timely feedback that enables teachers to gain new insights into ‘what next’ for their learner - but also for the learner themselves to challenge themselves, thinking about ‘what’s next’ - is really, really important. It’s obviously one of the areas that we think is going to have massive potential in terms of learning and assessment.
