2019 sees exciting and ambitious plans for growth within RM Education and our sales teams are playing a pivotal role in helping us share our experience with more schools. As part of this approach, we recently conducted our first ever "Prospector Academy" – a new initiative to help us better train and develop our sales people. Prospectors are the lead generators who play a crucial role in the sales cycle within RM Education.
The first day of the Academy was designed to kick start their careers as successful sales people with key modules from both external sales trainers, and our own product, sales and marketing experts.
Julia Biddell is a Sales Prospector in our Services team and said I joined RM Education as I wanted a new challenge and the opportunity to progress. The Academy has been great as it allowed me to take the role back to basics and work with colleagues to improve our sales and product knowledge.
Rhian Old, Sales Lead for our Connectivity team, welcomed that feedback: "Our Sales Prospectors are the talent of the future and we want to invest in them".
This was further echoed by Chris Aitken, Sales Lead for our Digital who added: "Sales Prospectors are crucial to the business in that as well as spotting early opportunities, they are the future Account Managers, Sales Leaders and Business Development Managers for our £65m business, so investing in them now is key". He went on to add why it is such an exciting time to join the business: "My part of the business has the feel of a start up, with the backing of a Plc. Which is why my team alone has added three new recruits so far this year with more planned in the second half".
