RM Unify update v4.58

Following feedback from customers we recently made a change in RM Unify to allow admin rights to be granted to users with the 'Other' role.

What problem did we solve for you?

Previously, the granting of admin rights was only possible for Teaching Staff and Non-Teaching Staff users. This restricted all your admin users to those roles, those corresponding Launch Pads, apps and links etc, as well as automatically giving those users membership of the Teaching Staff and Non-Teaching Staff groups in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, which may not always be desired.

Admins with the Other role can now have their own Launch Pad and will be put into the Other groups in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

How do you access this new feature?

As an RM Unify Super Admin, when viewing a user of the Other role in the Management Console, clicking the Actions button will now present the new admin rights for you to grant. The rights can be revoked using the same Actions button - please see below.

Quick refresher: assigning or delegating admin rights to additional users in your establishment reduces the burden on the IT team and allows for quicker resolution of certain actions and tasks, such as resetting passwords.

Please read our help article for more information Admin rights available for users within RM Unify.

I have worked at RM for over 25 years, mostly in technical support roles, but am now helping shape our software products for the future. I talk to customers and stakeholders about the problems they face, think about the solutions that could be provided, and then help prioritise those for release. Outside of work my dream day would involve cycling to a record store in a remote forest, followed by a Japanese meal with sake. Kampai!
