Filtering

Web filtering - Powerful, simple and exclusively for education

Due to the revised Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) statutory guidance which came into effect on the 5th September 2016, schools are now obligated to ensure appropriate filters and monitoring systems are in place and pupils should not be able to access harmful or inappropriate material from the school or college IT system.

With ICT playing such an integral role in education, it’s critical that “overblocking” does not lead to unreasonable restrictions as to what children can be taught with regards to online teaching and safeguarding.

It’s vital that you have a filtering solution which is flexible enough to support safe online learning whilst also protecting against sites which could be unsuitable or disruptive for your school community.

Monitoring

How safe is your school community on your network?

As the digital environment continues to change rapidly, it is essential that schools are aware of changes to online activities and behaviours. These might be specific to your school, local area or be a more widely adopted trend across an age group.

The digital environment offers a powerful learning opportunity but there are risks involved for students and staff alike. Guidance and support are an integral part of the curriculum and this should also be the case for online safety to ensure that technology is not seen as a burdensome threat, but rather as a positive learning and management tool for the benefit of the entire establishment.

Effective monitoring is key to identifying potential risks to your school community. Don’t let your computer systems become an unnecessary threat to the safety and security of your school.

CPD and consultancy

Protect, educate and inspire

Technologies such as social networking, online gaming, instant messaging and photo sharing bring with them serious risks. Increasingly, those risks are as real in the school environment as they are outside of it.

We offer a range of consultancy and workshops designed to inform you of the considerations and risks, to help you understand what to do about them and how to support your staff, students and parents.

All online safety training and consultancy can be tailored to your individual requirements; we don’t have a rigid structure to our sessions simply because we know that every establishment is different.
