If you have RM Unify MIS Sync enabled, congratulations! You are already capitalising on probably the most powerful piece of functionality within RM Unify.
MIS Sync enables:
- Accurate and up to date automatic user account provisioning*
- Automatic updating of existing accounts and, very importantly for the security of your establishment, the de-provisioning of those accounts*
- Self-serve password resets*
- Access to those apps which require MIS data, such as RM Parent Portal, SatchelOne, or RM Easimaths
- The ability to create and manage accounts for parents
- Granular Launch Pads for students, allowing each year group/Key Stage to have their own Launch Pad
- RM Unify Group Sync to create and manage your M365 Groups, M365 Classes (for Microsoft Teams), Google Classroom, and… 🥁 coming soon - Google Groups! 🥳
Enabling RM Unify MIS Sync in 'Create mode' (to provision your cloud accounts directly from your MIS) can also be an important step on your establishment's journey to removing on-premises Active Directory, and reliance on RM Unify AD Sync, which does not allow self-serve password recovery for your users' cloud accounts.
Alternatively, if you are planning on keeping your on-premises Active Directory for the time being, MIS Sync in Create mode in conjunction with RM Unify Network Provisioning hands over all your user provisioning to RM Unify, making it automatic, safe, secure, and reliable.

MIS migrations
For those of you with MIS Sync enabled already, we're aware of a lot of movement in the MIS market currently, and you may be looking to change your MIS provider. If so, it is important that you let RM know as soon as possible, so that we can help you switch over your RM Unify establishment to your new MIS in good time and with minimal disruption to your user and group provisioning.
